William G. Ender

William G. Ender, 100, of Bethlehem, died Thursday, April 26, 2012 in Kirkland Village. He was the husband of the late Caroline (Hesse) Ender who died in 1987, and the late Marguerite (Eiline) Ender who died in 2010. Born in Aspinwall, PA, he was the son of the late Edward G. and Helen (Veneman) Ender. After attending Penn State University, William was employed as a fuel engineer at the Bethlehem Steel Co. for 35 years before retiring in 1976. He was a member and former elder of First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem. Very active in scouting, William was a former scout master, past president of the Bethlehem Area Boy Scout Council, and received the Silver Beaver Award. He served on the City Center Authority. Survivors: sons, William G. Jr., and his wife Patricia of Bethlehem, Dr. David A., and his wife Leslie of New Richmond, WI, brother, Robert C. of Kennebunk, ME, 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Services: A memorial service will be held at noon, Tuesday, May 1, in the Kirkland Village Auditorium. Burial will be private. Arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home, Bethlehem.
