Agnes D. Ruyak, 94, of Bethlehem, died Wednesday, March 29, 2017, in Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg.  She was the wife of the late Charles M. "Abby" Ruyak who died in 1992.

Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Bobyak) Magyar.  She was a graduate of Bethlehem High School and Bethlehem Business College.

During World War II, she was employed in the War Department, U.S. Army Quartermaster General's Office in Washington, D.C.  She was a member of the USO in Washington.  Later, she transferred to the Army Signal Corps in Philadelphia to be closer to her ill mother.  Following this, she was the Assistant Housing Manager at Seabrook Farms, Bridgeton, NJ.

After the war, upon returning to Bethlehem, she was employed at Moravian Seminary for Girls Green Pond campus as Secretary to the Headmistress and Assistant Admissions Director.  Agnes was employed for many years as Secretary to the President and General Manager of Fountain Hill Underwear Mills.

As she raised a family for the last twenty-four years prior to retiring in 1983, she was employed as a legal secretary.

Agnes was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and was a past president of its Senior Fellowship Club.  She also served as president of the UGI Blue Flame Seniors Club.  Over the years she performed volunteer work for various organizations.

Survivors: Daughters, Mary Lou Schuler, and husband John of Palmer Township, Carole Ann Ruyak (David Marthens) of Purcellville, VA and Anne Marie (Ladislav) Varga of Bethlehem; her dearly beloved grandson, Charles, of Bethlehem who took care of her through many illnesses; and many nieces and nephews.  She was the youngest of sixteen children and the last to survive.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 3, in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 3219 Santee Road, Bethlehem, followed by burial in Resurrection Cemetery, Wescosville.  Visitation will be in the church Gathering Space from 9:30 until Mass.
