Ana D. Castro-Cortes, 86, of Bethlehem, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2022, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of John Cortes.

Born in Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Ramon and Marcela (Morales) Castro and the step daughter of the beloved Julia Gonzalez, who is also deceased.

She was employed by the New York City Board of Education as a teacher's assistant for many years before retiring.

She will be remembered as a loving wife and mother who enjoyed music, dancing and traveling. Most of all, she loved spending time with family.

Surviving with her husband John, are her daughters, Lizette Valencia, Elizabeth Escudero, Sandra Lavigne, and her son, Osvaldo Escudero; Ana is also survived by her sister Ada Chabrier and brothers Raymond and Antonio Castro. Ana was also blessed with nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A Prayer Service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, December 30, in the Pearson Funeral Home, 1901 Linden Street, Bethlehem, followed by interment in Holy Saviour Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 10:30 am – 12 pm on Friday.
