Carmella M. Butkiewicz, 96, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 5, 2024 in Holy Family Manor. She was the wife of the late Joseph Butkiewicz.

Born in Plains (Luzerne County), she was the daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Afieri) Lepore.

She was employed as a dressmaker at various Lehigh Valley clothing factories over the years.

Carmella was a faithful member of St. Anne's Catholic Church, Bethlehem. She also belonged to Monocacy Ladies. She enjoyed playing Bingo and took many trips with her husband to the Atlantic City casinos. A generous cook and baker, she will be remembered for her delicious pizza and providing baked goods for friends and family events. Carmella loved sewing so much that it was not only her vocation, but also her hobby. She sewed clothing for her daughters as well as their Barbie dolls. She loved animals, especially cats. She will be dearly missed by her daughters and her friends. The family would like to thank the devoted staff at Holy Family Manor for the wonderful care and love they gave to Carmella during her residency.

Surviving are her beloved daughters, Joanne Kear and her husband Kevin of Mertztown and Debra Julia and her husband (James) of Bethlehem.

A prayer service will be held at Pearson Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 15th at 1:00 p.m., with a visitation from noon to the time of the service.
