Carole R. Olszewski, 79, of Catasauqua, passed away on April 25, 2023 at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Muhlenberg. For 44 years she was the beloved wife and best friend to Frank J. Olszewski, who passed away in 2009.

Born in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Paul Emile and Marjorie (Walsh) Plante.

She was a lifelong learner who graduated Magna Cum Laude from Moravian University in 2001. Beyond her studies at the University, she loved to travel, volunteer, and find beauty in the smallest of things. She loved reading poetry, specifically the prose of Whitman, Dickinson, and Frost.

After her graduation from Moravian University, she was employed as Assistant to the Dean at the Graduate and Continuing Studies Department at Moravian University until she retired in 2015. Prior to her work at Moravian University, she worked in retail at the Lehigh Valley Mall for nearly two decades.

She loved volunteering. She spent countless hours supporting the Lehigh Valley Soccer Scholar Athlete Foundation which was directed by her late husband Frank J. Olszewski and is now carried on by her eldest son, Frank D. Her green eyes and kind smile were often seen greeting and registering attendees at their Annual Awards Banquet. With her late husband, she was also heavily involved in youth sports, specifically with the Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association and was seen contributing her time at various events throughout the state and country.

Her biggest passion was raising her sons, focusing on their education and enrichment. She attended countless concerts, games, and Boy Scouts events. She was their biggest fan and celebrated them whenever she could.

She was kind, quick-witted, and funny. She could light up a room with a look, a sly comment, or a movie quote. She will forever be missed.

Carole was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church, Bethlehem.

Surviving are sons, Frank (partner; Laura Wells) of West Chester, Scott (wife; Elizabeth Hall) of Exeter, NH, and Jon (wife; Sarah Murphy) of Somerville, MA; a brother, Paul Plante of Scotch Plains, NJ; a sister, Alyce Michaud of Jacksonville, FL; and grandchildren, Matthew, Megan and William. She was predeceased by a sister Arlene Prainito.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM Monday, May 1, in St. Anne's Church, Easton and Washington Avenues, Bethlehem. Friends and family may call from 3 – 5 PM Sunday, April 30, in the Pearson Funeral Home, 1901 Linden Street, Bethlehem. Interment will be in Altoona, PA at Alto-Reste Park, 109 Alto-Reste Park, Altoona on May 2.
