Clayton H. Fritz, 98, of Bethlehem, died Thursday, January 4, 2018, in Saucon Valley Manor.  He was a beloved husband, father, brother, son, pop-pop and friend married to Margaret (Green) Fritz for 61 years.

Born in Fountain Hill, he was a son of the late Mark and Elizabeth (Cross) Fritz.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.  A 31 year veteran of the U.S. Postal Service, Clayton retired as Post Master in Hereford, PA.

A member of  Assumption BVM Church, Colesville, he previously belonged to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Bethlehem, for 65 years.

Clayton was a member of Toastmasters International for many years where he perfected his public speaking skills.

He was a Boy Scout Master for 25 years and also served as a volunteer fireman and officer of Se-Wy-Co Fire Company.

After retirement Clayton began oil painting and completed portraits of all 44 presidents and first ladies.  The entire collection has been donated to the Valley Forge Freedom Foundation where they currently hang.

Clayton was an avid writer with hundreds of pen pals across the U.S.A.  "He was quite a guy!"

Survivors: Daughters, Joann F. Coltman of Wallingford, PA, Judith A. Kowalchik, and her husband Robert of Macungie and Jean M. Berezny of Easton; brother, William of Bethlehem; grandchildren, Charles and Clayton Coltman, Kimberly  and Robert Kowalchik; seven great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Margaret, brothers Earl and Lewis and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Coltman.

Services: Will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 13, in the Pearson Funeral Home, 1901 Linden Street, Bethlehem.  Calling hour from noon until 1 p.m.
