Constance B. White, age 96, died peacefully on Sunday, August 25th, 2024. She was the wife of Malcolm L. White, who predeceased her in 2011.

Connie was born and raised in Lakewood, Ohio, the daughter of Walter J. Brauer and Gladys R. Brauer. She earned her BS in chemistry at Northwestern University in 1950. Upon graduation she worked as a lab manager for the chemistry department of Northwestern, where she met her soon-to-be husband, Mac. They were married in 1951.

After the birth of her first son, Steven, and subsequent daughters Kathryn and Janet, Connie devoted her life to raising her children. She was the epitome of the saying, "If you educate a man you educate an individual, but if you educate a woman you educate a family." How lucky we were to have her as a mother! Connie was a self-assured, adventuresome woman, a voracious reader, a lover of classical music, an outdoorswoman, and a loving, selfless mother. Along with Mac, she hiked the 2200-mile length of the Appalachian Trail over a period of 33 years. She and Mac travelled extensively around the world in their later years.

Connie returned to work when her children were in high school, employed as an office manager and bookkeeper for General Business Services/GWC inc. from 1976 to 1991.

Connie was a 75-year member of the American Association of University Women, serving as treasurer for 2 years. She was on the board of the Children's Theater, serving as its president for 2 years. Connie was active in the Rosemont Elementary School PTA and was an assistant leader for the Girl Scouts.

Connie is survived by her children Steven White, Kathryn Hobson and Janet White, five grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, as well as her two sisters, Betty Brush and Barbara Rogers.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 19th at 2:00pm at Kirkland Village,1 Kirkland Village Circle, Bethlehem, PA 18017.
