Bethlehem resident Daniel Paulus, 69, went to his eternal home on January 12, 2021 in St. Luke's Hospice, Lower Saucon Township.  He was the son of the late Sterling and Evelyn (Seifert) Paulus.  He was a graduate of the Liberty High School class of 1969.  Danny started working at Groman's Bakery at age 14 (where he enjoyed tasting samples while working), but spent most of his life employed by the City of Bethlehem in the water meter department.  He loved God and enjoyed playing volleyball and softball at church picnics.  He loved running and completed one marathon, several half-marathons, and many 10K and 5K races.  He liked to drink chai at Barnes and Noble while reading the latest running magazines, going to the New Jersey shore, and wandering through neighborhood yard sales.  He enjoyed music and playing his guitar and was, most likely, the biggest Beatle fan on the east coast, spending a weekend each spring at the Fest for Beatles Fans in New Jersey.  He counted his children and grandchildren among his most precious gifts in life.

He is survived by his wife Jocelyn of Bethlehem; son Christian of Bethlehem (wife Licia and children Ryder, Cash, and Mazzi); daughter Stephanie of Bangor (husband Justin Taylor and child Moose); son Joshua of Bethlehem (partner Melissa and children Savannah, Grace, Lexie, and Emma); siblings David, John, Judy and Pam; lifelong friend Gary; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, friends, and family too numerous to list but not forgotten.

Daniel's family would like to express their gratitude to the staff and volunteers at Holy Family Manor who took such good care of him over the last three and a half years.  Many of them went above and beyond their job description to bring laughter and love to his last years (you all know who you are!)

A memorial service will be held at a later date.  Arrangements, Pearson Funeral Home, Bethlehem, PA.
