Diane R. Effting, 59, of Bethlehem, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022, in Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg.  She was the wife of Joseph Scott Effting for 33 years.  They celebrated their anniversary in June.

Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Earl Jackson and Stella M. (Bauer) Rice.

Diane was employed in the banking industry for 40 years.  She loved her job as a lender helping small businesses and professionals begin and expand.  Much of her time was devoted to the family owned bicycle shop, Action Wheels Bike Shop, which is run by her younger son.  Diane was an avid poker player and loved Fantasy Football, especially all things Tom Brady and Robb Gronkowski.  A German Shepherd lover, she enjoyed family summer beach vacations in the Carolinas.  Diane was a youth soccer coach when her sons were younger.

Surviving with her husband are sons, Zachary Scott (Ashley) of Dunellen, NJ and Scott Alexander (Madison King) of Allentown.  She was predeceased by a sister Nancy Fedok.

Visitation will be held from 6 - 7:30 p.m. Monday, January 10, in the Pearson Funeral Home, 1901 Linden Street, Bethlehem.  Properly fitting masks and social distancing will be required.  Service and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Allentown Police Department Canine Fund, 425 Hamilton Street, Allentown, PA 18101, Att'n: Sgt. Robert Flores, to help support the K-9 program.
