Donald H. Yeakel, 74, of Allentown, passed away Monday, November 15, 2021, in Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest.  He was the husband of Darlene A. (Frantz) Yeakel for 27 years.

Donald graduated from Emmaus High School and Bloomsburg University.  He was a teacher at Emmaus High School for 30 years before retiring as Chair of the Business Department.  During his teaching career he coached the Emmaus High School cheerleading squad and was a scorekeeper for the boy's basketball team.

He was a member of the Whitehall Bible Fellowship Church and the Emmaus Lodge #792 F. & A.M.

Surviving with his wife Darlene are a brother, Richard Yeakel (Shirley) of Cetronia; a step-daughter, Jaclynne Smith of Wind Gap; a step-son, James Troxell (Rose) of Allentown; three granddaughters; cousins, nieces and nephews,and his beloved dog, Georgie Girl.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 20, in the Pearson Funeral Home, 1901 Linden Street, Bethlehem, followed by burial in Bethlehem Memorial Park.  Family and friends are invited to his viewing from 10 a.m. until service time.  Donald was known for his extensive necktie collection.  Those attending his viewing or service will have the opportunity to select one of his ties to keep as a remembrance.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Donald's name may be sent to Tunnel to Towers Foundation at t2t.org.  The organization honors the sacrifice of firefighter Stephen Siller who laid down his life to save others on September 11, 2001, by building homes for handicapped military and first responders.
