Pettie entered this world on June 25 ^th , 1949 taking it by storm.  She was born at St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem, PA to the late Christine M. Jackson and Nathaniel Gunn.  She was the second youngest of six siblings.  She attended Saucon Valley School District where she was raised in Steel City, PA.

She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother of five children and she helped raise her nieces, nephews and grandchildren.  She had a sharp tongue, as all that knew her would say, but a very kind heart.  She helped and took in those in need of support.  That is the legacy she left behind for her family to follow.  She worked most of her years as a seamstress and had a short stint working at Bethlehem Steel.

Pettie attended church with her daughter SaLisa and on her own in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and Florence, South Carolina.  She loved the Lord and desired to be counted in His number.  She transcended to her heavenly home on November 17, 2019 at 8:18PM with her daughters SaLisa and Virginia and niece Ana "Princess" Ross by her side.

Pettie was preceded in death by her mother, Christine Jackson; father, Nathaniel Gunn; brothers, Booker T. Jackson Jr., John Jackson; sisters, Savanna Jackson, Ruthie Mae, Brenda "Penny" Nagy; special first cousins (raised like siblings), Talibah "Debbie" Yazid, Gene Mickens, Nathaniel Wilkins, Tony Wilkins; granddaughter, Lakyra Saquillya Cooper; grandson, Kelcey Terrell Jackson-Baker; dear friend, Barbara Duffy. They are having the reunion of a lifetime as they smile down on us.

Ellie Mae "Pettie" Jackson Berrien leaves to cherish her precious memories…Five children: Brian Keith Jackson,Doris Marie Berrien, Virginia Lee Berrien, SaLisa Lynn Berrien, and Raphel Berrien III; special nieces and nephews she helped raise: Christine "Pinky" Jackson Benslimen, Raymond Jackson, Ana "Princess" Ross, and James Nagy;Grandchildren: Nathaniel Levan, Jesus Dominguez, Brian Jackson, Anisha Berrien Akers, Michael Jackson, Zandra Adams, Darren Reed, Darnell Levan, Josephine Serrano, Frederick Roberts, Kunta Jackson-Baker, Salise Imani Berrien, Nicole Childs, Koran Jackson, Tierra Cooper, Talitha Jackson, Keith Jackson, Darren Jackson; Siblings: Derek Byrd and Nadine Gunn; mother-in-law: Doris Berrien Jones and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and close friends.

Services will be held Saturday, November 30, at 11 a.m. in New Christian Harvest Church, 1201 North Ulster Street, Allentown, PA 18109.  Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday in the church.  Burial will be at 1 p.m. in Hellertown Union Union Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Pearson Funeral Home, 1901 Linden Street, Bethlehem, PA 18017, to help with funeral expenses.
