Elsie Irene Berger passed away on September 8, 2026 in Gracedale Nursing Home, formerly of Bethlehem, Pa. She was married for 59 years to Victor Berger, Jr. She would have been 96 years old on September 17.

Elsie loved playing softball as a pitcher with her daughter and granddaughter, Kelli. She enjoyed giving gifts to her extended family from coloring books to plastic bats to sand buckets. And she was the owner of an extensive Halloween costume collection. Her biggest passions were garage sales. Thrift stores, and Chinese buffets which she enjoyed immensely with Dad. Her family remembers her cucumber salad on holidays,

“It needs just a little more salt”. Her final remark when we left after a visit was, “ see you later alligator” and we replied, “ after while, crocodile “.

Elsie is survived by her son, Victor Berger, III (Lynne), and her daughter, Bonnie Snyder.

She has 5 grandchildren, Kelli(Harold), Kristen(Tye), Katie(Vinnie), Victor, and Tracy.

She has 7 great grandchildren, Leo, Emma, Aubrey, Evan, Hunter, Ruby, and Owen.

She has 2 surviving sisters , Linda Gentile and Roberta(Bert) Severn who loved her so much. Her niece, Carol Rivera, was special, especially when she cut her hair. Be sure to cover my ears!! Her brothers, Charles, Donald, and Robert predeceased her. And she is also predeceased by her husband and her son-in-law Craig Snyder.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 12 at 10am at Bethlehem Memorial Park, 1851 Linden Street, Bethlehem, Pa. There will be no viewing.
