Frank (Bud) Zieger, 57 of Alburtis passed away peacefully on November 30, 2021 at Saint Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem.  He was the husband of Jeanne (Murphy) Zieger for 24 years.  He is the son of Georgine Zieger of Center Valley and the late Frank Zieger.  Along with his wife and mother, he is survived by his brother Edward Zieger, sisters Diane Foster wife of Scott Foster and Beth Bodisch wife of Darrin Bodisch, nieces and nephews.

He was employed by Lehigh Valley Health Network for 24.  In his time there he was honored by the hospital with a "Friends of Nursing" award for his work of presenting the "Playground Safety" program at various elementary centers throughout the local area.  Bud loved kids and enjoyed his time on the unit.  He continued his outreach to children through representing Santa Claus at the annual Alburtis Community Center "Breakfast with Santa" for many years.

Over his residency in Alburtis he served Macungie Volunteer Fire Co. and transitioned to Alburtis Volunteer Fire Co., where he also served as Fire Police Captain and treasurer for the PA State Fireman's Relief Fund. One of his biggest joys was cooking for the fire company.  He loved cooking and the bigger the crowd the better.

Bud also enjoyed shopping for the elderly through Meals on Wheels.  The Groceries on Wheels program allowed him to help elderly community members.  He was always giving them cooking advice and food recommendations.  As a member of the Zion Lehigh Church he also was able to indulge his frustrated chef side.

Community and helping people became a very important part of his life.  In his final years nothing was closer to his heart than the Alburtis Lions Club.  He was honored to be serving as the President at the time of his passing.  Even in his final weeks he was brainstorming fundraising ideas.  Because of this importance his wife and family are asking that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Alburtis Lions Club.  Anyone wishing to donate can make the check payable to: Alburtis Lions Club and send it to Alburtis Lions Club c/o Lion Don Bauman, 436 S.
