Helena Kathryn Ross Lindquist, Age 82, crossed over to her new Life on 1/22/26. Born in Providence, RI in 1943, she grew up in Maryland and came to PA when she began attending Penn State University to study interior design. She worked in various roles within the banking industry for 24 years, working her way from Line Teller at Merchants Bank to Vice President and Regional Community Reinvestment Act Officer at First Fidelity Bank.  Her banking career gave Helena the opportunity to work with several Lehigh Valley charities and non-profits that enabled her to continue to help the community in the next phase of her career. After retiring from the bank, Helena became the Executive Director of a start-up non-profit that arranged partnerships between businesses and schools in lower Bucks County. The objective was to help students understand, through classroom presentations, tours and shadowing experiences, what their curriculum could qualify them for in their adult life.  Later, she moved into writing and staging fundraising events. After retirement, she focused her efforts on her family, favorite pastimes, and her church affiliations, including both her local church and the national Synod level.

She took great joy from her family, including extended family and those close in heart but living some distance.  Being actively involved in the lives of her two children, five grandchildren, and now soon-to-be two great-grandchildren, gave her enormous pleasure.  Other activities that she could get lost in included expressing her creativity, gardening, and travel.  She spent many hours on her knees with her hands in the soil tending her own flower beds and those of family and friends, especially with Kallie, her granddaughter/apprentice.

She stood for creating harmony around her by extending and modeling kindness and thoughtful expressions of love and devoted much time to sharing skills and life experiences in an effort to benefit others.

Helena had very few regrets in life, but the quickening pace of life and the electronic shortcuts introduced in recent culture that interfered with meaningful contact between people brought her sorrow and concern for future generations.

Shades of purple brought her eyes the most pleasure, as well as the taste of chocolate and the fragrance of lavender.  Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelujah' could easily move her to tears.

She was a deeply feeling and thoughtful person who tried to make the world around her a more caring and beautiful place and she did it with a unique collection of God-given gifts that she shared willingly.

Helena is survived by her son Douglas (Danielle) Lindquist, daughter Diane (Herb) Carter; grandchildren Jason (Amanda) Carter, Kallie (Barron) Carter Kistler, Andrew Lindquist, Gabrielle Lindquist, and Natalie Lindquist; and great-grandchildren Colten Carter and soon-to-arrive Beau Carter.

Calling hours are planned for 3-7pm on 3/13/26. On 3/14/26 a calling hour at 10am is planned with a Celebration of Life to follow at 11am. All held at Longswamp UCC (200 Clay Road, Mertztown, PA 19539, Rev. Kimberly Berenotto officiating). A luncheon will follow the service at 1:30 pm at a location to be announced at the service.
