Jana Klier, 80, of Bethlehem, died Thursday, November 2, 2017, in St. Luke's Hospice House.  She and her husband, Kamil Klier, celebrated 56 years of marriage.

Born in Prague, Czechoslovakia, she was the daughter of the late Jan and Anna (Komzakova) Simer.

A graduate of the Higher Medical School and Secondary Medical School in Prague, Jana delivered more than 1400 babies as a mid-wife and provided pre-natal and post-natal care for special cases associated with difficult pregnancy at the Prague Institute for Maternal and Child Care.  This summer she returned to the Prague Institute and was honored for her service.

While living in Prague she was a member of the Czech Rowing Club.  She won several Czechoslovakia Girls Rowing races and placed first in the European Rowing Races for Girls.

Jana was a member of Central Moravian Church, Bethlehem, and an original member of the Moravian Fellowship Group.

Survivors: Husband, Kamil; sons, John (Nancy) Klier of Amherst, MA and Peter (Svetlana) Klier of Sunnyvale, CA; brothers, Jan (Milada) Simer and Vladimir (Bozena) Simer, all in Prague; grandchildren, Carolyn, Pavel, Steven, Laura, Katherine and Nikola.

Services: Private services were held November 11.
