Jean M. Peters of Allentown, widow of Richard Peters, died on March 22, at the age of 96. Before retiring she worked at Office Utilities, United Wesleyan College and Muhlenberg College as a bookkeeper. She is survived by daughter Dr. Jill Peters (Rich Swirsding) of Bethlehem, and son Bob Peters (Connie) of Mount Joy. Six grandchildren including Christopher Peters (Mary Grace) of Lancaster, Jen Styer (Mark) of Mount Joy, Tony Swirsding (Brandi) of Bethlehem, Dana Murnin (Tony) of Bethlehem, Tom Swirsding of Bethlehem, step-grandson David Swirsding (Sue) of Chalfont, and 17 great-grandchildren.

Jean was a member at several churches including Zion, Seibert and Christ E.C., a Sunday School teacher, and active in LV Christian Endeavor and CELTS. An avid bowler, she served as Treasurer and Statistician in several leagues. She was a member of the Quilt and Embroiderers Guilds and was an instructor for quilting, embroidery, and sewing at Lehigh County Sr. Center. She knitted hundreds of hats and sweaters for many agencies including The Salvation Army, Cancer Center, and LV Hospital NICU.

The family thanks Cedarbrook Ft. Hill and Pillars Hospice for their wonderful care.

Memorial Service will be at the Pearson Funeral Home, 1901 Linden St, Bethlehem on Monday, April 1 at 11 AM with Visitation at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to Christ EC Church, 2135 W. Tilghman St., Allentown, 18104.
