Jessie M. Lawatsch, age 97, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 12, 2021. Born in Kingston, NY on December 25, 1923, she was the daughter of Harry and Maud (Binch) Kapreilian. Known for her lovely singing voice, she attended Ithaca college as a music major, but she married her high school sweetheart, Frank E. Lawatsch, Sr., before graduating. They resided in Poughkeepsie, NY where she raised two boys and was active in community service. She was a Board member of the Poughkeepsie Children's Home, President of the Arlington Council of PTA's, President of the Vassar Brothers Hospital Association and Chairman of education programs for volunteers. Jessie was a member of Junior League, and active in scouting, ensuring that both sons attained the rank of Eagle Scout and Order of the Arrow.

For the past 20 years Jessie resided in Lower Nazareth and Bethlehem. A lifetime member of the Episcopal Church, she became an active member of the Cathedral Church of the Nativity where she volunteered in the Altar Guild, Thrift Shop, and made flower arrangements.

Jessie will be lovingly remembered by Frank, her husband of 78 years, two sons: Frank Lawatsch, Jr. and Pamela Schultz (Naples, FL) and Robert and Anne Lawatsch (Nazareth, PA), five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and countless friends and relatives who have been privileged to share the warmth of her smile and generous hospitality.

Memorial donations can be made to the Cathedral Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, PA. A Memorial service will be arranged for a later date.
