John M. McCulloch, age 76, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 14, 2019. He was born on September 26, 1942, in Norfolk, Virginia, to Vivian Stole and Edward McCulloch. He spent much of his childhood in Schenectady, New York. John attended Penn State University and served in the U.S Navy for 2 years as a Radar Technician. He worked for General Electric for 25 years. He then went on to drive the Special Needs school bus for Bethlehem School District for 20 years.

John was a proud member of the American Legion Post 379 Honor Guard and served as head Honor Guard for 10 years. He was committed to honoring veterans and took part in the rifle salute at many funerals each year as service to the families of the departed veterans.

He was a devoted lover of animals both domestic and wild. He provided shelter to hundreds of birds with his many strategically placed bird houses and created a beautiful pond sanctuary to a lovely assortment of koi and goldfish. He was a passionate Philadelphia Eagles and Penn State football fan as well as New York Mets fan. He enjoyed running and was an active runner into his mid 70s.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Elaine (Kardos), step-son Timothy Horvath and dear cats, Rusty & Rowdy, all of Bethlehem Township. He is also survived by his half-sister Sarah McCulloch and daughter Amelia of the San Juan Islands as well as half-brother David McCulloch of Colorado who considered John a mentor. He will be fondly remembered by his "favorite" niece and nephew-in-law, Jill and Alan Blickley, grand-nephews Alexander and Lucas, as well as brother-in-law, Dale Grammes. In addition to his parents, John is predeceased by step-father Bill Coger, as well as his many precious pets including dogs, Brandy, Bo, Summer and cat Tiger.

Private Services only. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in John's memory to either The Center for Animal Health & Welfare or St. Luke's Hospice.
