June M. Maculesky, 96, of Bethlehem, passed away March 19, 2024, in her home. Her husband of 68 years, Stanley J. Maculesky, died in 2015.

Born in Bethlehem on June 29, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Marion (Woerner) Zettlemoyer.

After graduating from Liberty High School in 1945, she worked as a secretary for Brown-Borhek Lumber Company in Bethlehem until 1950.

Following her marriage in 1947 and the births of her children, June was a stay-at home-mom from 1950 until 1967, whereafter she worked for several years as the school secretary at St. Francis Academy in Bethlehem. She also had worked as a volunteer at St. Luke's and Muhlenberg hospitals.

She became a member of the East Hills Moravian Church, Bethlehem, in 1967 and later became the church's secretary, retiring from that position in 1988. While a member at East Hills, June served on the Board of Elders, the Worship Committee, and was elected as the first female president of the church's Board of Trustees. For many years, she served as a sacristan and sang in the church choir. She also served as president of the Women's Fellowship and on numerous fund-raising committees on behalf of the church.

June was wonderfully talented at playing the piano, and she loved singing along with her family as she played. Her other interests included gardening, sewing, crafts and reading. She also very much enjoyed traveling with her husband Stan.

Always a loving, caring mother, June had a very special knack for engaging her young children's minds, showing them how to have great times at play by imagining even ordinary, everyday surroundings as places filled with possibilities for adventure and fun-filled games.

She ever shall be lovingly remembered and deeply missed.

Surviving are daughters, Janet Holder of Bethlehem and Jeanne Bednarik of Lone Jack, Missouri; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by daughters, Susan Kotze and Barbara Nunnemacher and brothers, Herbert and George.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 18, at 11:00 AM in East Hills Moravian Church, 1830 Butztown Road, Bethlehem, PA.
