Kathleen G. Waldron, of Hanover Twp, formerly from the Hudson Valley in New York, passed away on September 26, 2026, at the age of 82, while residing at Traditions of Hanover, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Born in Hackensack, NJ, to the late Thomas L and Jean (Hamilton) Gleason, she graduated from Douglass College in New Brunswick, NJ, with a BS in English Education and later got a master's in Library Science from Simmons College in Boston, MA.
Kathy’s faith and convictions changed the course of her life. Inspired by the words of a priest from Covenant House in New York City, Kathy left her teaching career and volunteered to serve the runaway youth in that community for three years. Her commitment to the less fortunate and her love for nature would lead her to pursue work in fundraising and development in non-profit groups; Catholic Near East Welfare Association, The New York Botanical Garden and Scenic Hudson. Kathy finished her career in the New York prison system as head librarian, serving the incarcerated with love and respect.
Kathleen is survived by her step-daughters: Margaret Adler and husband Richard, Geraldine Quinones and husband Stephen, and Kathleen Donohue and husband William; her step-son John and the late Phyliss Waldron; her two devoted sisters, Constance J Pojanowski and husband Paul and Nancy L Berchtold and husband John; her nieces Erin(Pojanowski) Groel, Meghan(Pojanowski) Donohue, Allison(Berchtold) Tirpak and her nephew Bryan Pojanowski and her ten grand nieces and nephews. She is Nanny to her step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her beloved cat, Puff, to be loved by all. She was predeceased by the love of her life, John G Waldron, born in County Mayo, Ireland, and her beloved cat, Lovey Dovey.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 12, in Notre Dame Catholic Church, 1865 Catasauqua Road, Bethlehem, PA. The inurnment will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 19, in St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery, River Road, Yardley, PA.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Kathleen's name may be sent to Covenant House, 460 W. 41st Street, New York, NY 10036, or SOAR (Starting Over Animal Rescue) , Peaceable Kingdom, 1049 MacArthur Road, Whitehall, PA 18052.
