Kenneth Lewis Lauer, 87, died Friday, November 30, 2018, in St. Luke's Hospice House.  He was the husband of Marjorie (Hibbard) Lauer and resided in Northampton, PA.  Born in Shamokin, PA, he was the son of the late Esther (Renn) Lauer and the late William J. Lauer.

He was Grounds Manager of the Graver Arboretum of Muhlenberg College for 22 years, retiring in 2016.  Mr. Lauer was a graduate of Coal Township High School.  He served in the United States Air Force from 1950-54, and was stationed in Newfoundland.  For many years he was employed by the Hazleton branch of Northeastern Bank, before moving to the Lehigh Valley.  He retired from the position of Vice President-Mortgages at Second National Bank of Nazareth in 1989, and opened his own business, Call Ken for Small Jobs.

Mr. Lauer had been a member of the Bushkill Township Environmental Advisory Committee, and a director of the Bushkill Stream Conservancy.  He represented the Conservancy on the Nazareth Area Council of Governments.

He is survived by his wife and six children: Jeremy of Geneva, Switzerland; Mary of Alexandria, Virginia; Cynthia Hutton, Barbara Gutekunst and Kimberly Lombardo of Hazleton, Pennsylvania; and Elizabeth Smith of New Smithville, Pennsylvania.  He also leaves a brother, Donald, in Mesquite, Nevada and nine grandchildren.
