Kenneth E. Niewoehner, 94, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully at home on March 27, 2022 with his wife Phyllis by his side. Ken met Phyllis (Metzler) Niewoehner in Johnstown, PA., married in June 1954, and enjoyed 67 active and happy years together.

Ken was born and raised in St. Louis, graduated from the Missouri School of Mines (now known as Missouri University of Science and Technology) in 1948. Subsequently he served in Germany in the Army Corps of Engineers. Ken joined Bethlehem Steel in 1950 and retired in 1987 as a Senior Metallurgical Engineer.

Ken was a spiritual individual and was an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church. He volunteered on numerous projects and committees in the life of the church. Ken was active in the Boy Scouts throughout his life and served as Scoutmaster for Lower Saucon Troop 301 from 1971-1979. Ken loved the outdoors and was a lifetime birder with a life list that spans the United States and five continents. Ken and Phyllis enjoyed many outdoor activities together including biking, hiking and skiing.  But his greatest joy and passion was for his family.

Ken is survived by Phyllis, sister Joanne Moore, four children, Ellen, John, Elizabeth married to Ben Howell, and Dan married to Kathi. In addition, he has four grandchildren, Lia Howell and Ryan, Matt and Evan Niewoehner.

Services will be held on Saturday, April 2 ^nd at 10:30 AM at Wesley United Methodist Church located at 2540 Center Street, Bethlehem.
