Mary (Golab) Lawrence, 98, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2025. She was the wife of the late Francis W. Lawrence. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Helena (Zielenska) Golab. Mary was a 1944 graduate of Bethlehem High School now known as Liberty High School.

She worked at the Bethlehem Steel Office on Third Street in the Production Department, was Financial Secretary for Woodmen Life Insurance, a Democratic Committee Woman for the 14th Ward-4th District at Spring Garden School, and retired in 1989 from Bethlehem Catholic High School as a food server in the cafeteria serving many students for over 22 years. She always served the students with a smile and an extra portion of food on their plate. Mary enjoyed watching and cheering on the Duke Blue Devils basketball team on TV.

She was a faithful member of St. Anne's Parish of Bethlehem and its Church Sodality. She also was a member of the SAWASA group and helped to coordinate the membership bus trips; a member of Sts. Simon and Jude Seniors and a volunteer at St. Francis Friary for many years. Mary was an excellent cook and baker. Her specialty was making her tasty and delicious kiffels that no one could resist.

But the most important part of her life was as a devoted wife and mother, and a woman of great faith.

Survivors: Daughter, Maureen F. Lawrence of Center Valley; Son, Francis G. Lawrence and wife Carol of Bethlehem; Grandchildren, Robert F. Lawrence and Ryan F. Lawrence. She was predeceased by sisters Agnes Mozaeke, Adella Martin, Helen Werkheiser, and her foster sister Blanche Avilla.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 24, at 11:00 AM in St. Anne's Catholic Church, 450 East Washington Avenue, Bethlehem. Calling hour is from 10:00 – 11:00 AM in the church before mass begins.
