Mary F.Turanchik (née Divok), 98, of Bethlehem, PA, entered into eternal rest on January 10, 2024. A lifelong resident of Bethlehem, she  was born to Anton and Mary (Nater)Divok on August 17, 1925. Mary married the love of her life, Mickey Turanchik on August 16, 1947 and they shared 45 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in 1992.

She was the beloved matriarch of her family, consistently ensuring that her children, Michael, Edward, and Barbara, felt valued and supported in their endeavors. Despite not having the opportunity to graduate high school herself, Mary was determined that her children would pursue higher education, a testament to her commitment to their futures.

Mary's dedication extended to over 25 years of service at the Wood Dining Company at Lehigh University, where as a Supervisor, she touched the lives of countless students. A fervent supporter of Lehigh athletics, Mary, affectionately known as 'Mrs. T', could always be found cheering from her reserved seat at the university's sporting venues.

Mary's faith was an integral part of her life as she was a devout member of both St. Cyril and Methodius church and St. Peter and Paul church in Bethlehem. Her spiritual devotion was a source of comfort and strength throughout her life.

Among her survivors are her children Barbara, Michael (Frances), and her grandsons Shawn (Julie) and Thomas (partner John James). She also leaves behind her sister-in-law Jane Divok, the Giangiobbe family, and eighteen nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her parents, her husband Michael Turanchik, son Edward Turanchik, and siblings Pauline, Joseph, Edward, Irene, and Richard.

Mary found great joy in her friendship with neighbor and best friend, Brianne, with whom she shared countless precious moments over 29 years. Their bond was one of the many beautiful relationships Mary nurtured throughout her life.

The family would like to thank St. Luke's Hospice for the stellar care Mary received  from them.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Lehigh University Michael Turanchik Scholarship Fund, to honor Mary's passion for education and her love for Lehigh University.

A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Mary Turanchik is in the care of the Pearson Funeral home with calling hours on Thursday, April 4 from 10-11 , followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St Peter and Paul church and will be will be laid to rest at Holy Savior cemetery.
