Millie, age 95, was welcomed into her Savior's arms on December 13 at The Brian Perrin St. Luke's Hospice House, surrounded by loving family members. Born Mildred Roberta Silfies in Bethlehem, PA to Martha (Wickert) and Robert Silfies on October 2, 1928, she was the youngest of seven children. Preceding her in death were her sisters Dorothea Goodlin and Ethel Sneary, brothers Robert Silfies, Henry Silfies and Kerwin Silfies.

After graduating from Liberty High School in 1946, she earned a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Syracuse University. She married the love of her life, Owen (Bud) Sheriff in 1951, and they settled in Bethlehem to raise a family. She was a wonderful homemaker and mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. With an unwavering passion for music, though she taught only briefly, she sang with the Bach Choir of Bethlehem, and the St. Luke's Singers for many years. She directed and accompanied the Kazoo band later in life at her assisted living facility. She joyfully volunteered at St. Luke's Hospital for over 5000 hours, and served others through the Reach for Recovery program and the National Braille Association.

Millie loved her Phillies! Always up for fun, she enjoyed playing cards and board games with her grandchildren and friends, and later became a competitive Wii bowler at her residence. Whether it be Bridge Club, the Red Hat Club, or traveling around the world, she lived her life to the fullest.

A lifelong member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, she was a mainstay in the choir, and often played the organ when needed. She participated in leadership – teaching and serving on their Church Council.

She is survived by her children, David Sheriff, Martha (Ric) Baxter, Susan (Todd) Steen, Scott (Michele) Sheriff, 16 beloved grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; sister Anita Johnson and sister-in-law Bea Sheriff.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, December 19, in Blessed Trinity at Rosemont Lutheran Church, 1705 W. Broad Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018.
