On a sunny Spring day in Bethlehem, Mona Lisa Berbano Miller finished her work on Earth and was called home to be with the Lord. Born November 5,1939, in Aparri, Cagayan, the Philippines, she was the daughter of Mariano and Susana Berbano. Mona Lisa was the class valedictorian of Cagayan Valley Institute in 1955. She then received her Bachelor's in Hygiene from The University of the Philippines in 1961.
In 1963 she traveled to the US with a suitcase and $200. Mona Lisa had been accepted to Harvard. But she choose Penn State because they gave her a full scholarship. And her sister Farida was a nurse in Philadelphia. After graduating with her Master's in Nutrition in 1965, she married Ralph M.L.Miller. They were married in the chapel on campus and had their reception at the Nittany Lion Inn.
Ralph and Mona Lisa raised Susan and Mark on 50 acres of fields and woods in rural York County. When Ralph started his own business, Mona Lisa enrolled in classes with H&R Block so she could do his taxes. This lead to her second career of working for H&R Block for 30 years.
Mona Lisa served as treasurer of Shrewsbury Baptism Church for many years. She also volunteered during VBS and traveled on a mission trip to Trinidad.
Mona Lisa was always supportive of her children and grandsons. She enjoyed watching their sporting events. She and Ralph were world travelers. She enjoyed going on cruises with her sister Lita and her many Filipino cousins.
Mona Lisa is survived by her sister Warlita Reyes and husband Ernesto Reyes; daughter Susan Herbert; son Mark Miller and wife Tasha; grandsons J. Aiden Miller, Brian Herbert, Chase Miller and Zachary Herbert.

There will be a viewing from 3:00 - 5:00 PM on Sunday, March 29, in the Pearson Funeral Home, 1901 Linden Street, Bethlehem, PA 18017.  Another viewing on Monday, March 30, will take place from 10:00 - 11:00 AM, followed by the Memorial Service, all at Pearson Funeral Home.  On Tuesday, March 31, viewing will be 11:00 - 12:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Service at 12:00 PM both in Glenview Alliance Church, 10037 Susquehanna Trail S. Glen Rock, PA 17327.  Burial will complete the services in Stony Brook Cemetery, 3515 Stoneridge Road, York, PA.
