Nona was born on April 28, 1931, and passed away on January 10 ^, 2022 peacefully in her sleep of natural causes.

She was the daughter of Robert M. and Anna S. Pearce of Haddonfield, New Jersey.

Nona grew up in Haddonfield and attended Douglass College, Rutgers University. She graduated in the year 1952 with a degree in Sociology. She also did two years post graduate work at Fairleigh-Dickinson University, which resulted in an Elementary School Teacher Certification.

In 1954 Nona married Harold Gregory, who was also a Rutgers University graduate. The couple had four children. They were married for 55 years before Harold Gregory passed away on August 11th, 2009.

Her career in the Lehigh Valley was with three non-profit community organizations:  as the Nutrition Aide Supervisor for Penn State Cooperative Extension Service, as the Assistant Executive Director of Northampton County Homemaker-Health Aide Service and as Co-Director of the Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley.

Some of Nona's career highlights included being selected as one of ten people representing the Lehigh Valley in Philadelphia for Colin Powell's major governmental initiative called "America's Promise for Children" in 1997.  In 2001, Nona was given a "Women of the Year" award by the Bethlehem YWCA for her work on behalf of the Lehigh Valley community.

Nona was an active member in the Wesley United Methodist church as a choir member. She was also a devoted volunteer for Meals on Wheels of the Northampton County as both a meal delivery driver and a board member. Nona loved the State Theater in Easton where she and her husband were volunteers since 1988.

Nona enjoyed her last years at her home in Kirkland Village of Bethlehem, PA.  During this time she served on several committees, many in leadership roles: Floor leader (2 years), Residents Council (Vice President 2 years/briefly served as President/Nominating Committee Chair), Current Events Discussion Group (Founder) and Kirkland Village Book Club.

SURVIVED BY: Robert P. Gregory and his wife Patricia of Lincolnshire, Illinois; Catherine G. Kendrick and her husband Tim of Charlotte, North Carolina; Mark A. Gregory of Gladstone, Missouri; Cathleen Gregory of Red Hill, Pennsylvania; Maggie Lucas and her husband Ross of Coppell, Texas; and her six grandchildren: Lyle Kendrick, Andy Kendrick, Christine Gregory, Lindsey Gregory, Kiersten Gregory and Annie Lucas.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to support Multiple Sclerosis Auto-immune Disease Research at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2022, in the Kirkland Village Auditorium, One Kirkland Village Circle, Bethlehem, PA 18017, followed by a Reception immediately after the service.  All are welcome to attend.
