Polly Hinder, 87, of Bethlehem, passed away May 21, 2002.  She was the wife of the late William N. Hinder, who died June 28, 1993.

Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Albert S. and Jolan (Bleicher) Benfield.

A 1956 graduate of Mansfield State Teachers College, Polly was employed as a home economics teacher in the Wilson Boro School District many years ago.  She was a member of AAUW of Bethlehem, where she served as Vice-President of Membership.  Polly was Girl Scout Neighborhood Chair and also volunteered at the Cancer Boutique at the Rink.  She loved her cats.

Surviving are her son W. Scott, and her daughter Shoshanna, both of Allentown.

The service will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 26, in The Pearson Funeral Home, 1901 Linden Street, Bethlehem, followed by burial in Laurel Cemetery, Allentown.  Family and friends may call from 10 - 11 a.m.
