Richard Henry Lehr, of Bethlehem, died Tuesday, January 2, 2018, in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg.  He was the husband of Eva Louise (Renninger) Lehr.

Born in Fountain Hill, he was the son of the late Henry Williver and Isabel (Smullin) Lehr.

A  graduate of Fountain Hill High School, Richard served his country in the U.S. Army with the Occupation Forces in Japan during World War II.

He was employed by the Bethlehem Steel Co. in the BOF and Open Hearth for 37 years before retiring in 1984.

Richard was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fountain Hill.  An avid reader, he enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, gardening, puzzle solving, history and Irish music.

Survivors: Wife, Eva; nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a sister, Joyce E. Kresge.

Services :  Friday, January 5, at 1 p.m. in the Pearson Funeral Home, 1901 Linden Street, Bethlehem, followed by interment in Nisky Hill Cemetery.  Family and friends may call from noon until 1 p.m.
