Richard R. "Reds" Rau, 87, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2018, in his home.  His wife of 65 years, Lois J. (Uttley) Rau, died in 2015.

Born in Easton, he was a son of the late Donald and Grace (Leith) Rau.

He was employed by CNJRR, LVRR and Conrail before retiring as Yard Master.  He enjoyed gardening, playing pinochle and collecting coins.

Surviving are daughters, Cynthia (Edward) McGuire of Lecompte, LA, Nancy Leitgeb (Dean Harper), with whom he resided; sons, Richard, Jr. (Angela) and James, of Bethlehem and Michael (Michele) of Danielsville; brother, George Rau of Bethlehem; sisters, Katherine Kemmerer of Allentown, Jeanette Kressler and Gloria Kissel, both of Salisbury Township and Evelyn Keeler of Easton; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by brothers, Donald and Edgar, sister, Pearl Uttley and granddaughter, Elizabeth Grace Hickman.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 7, in the Pearson Funeral Home, 1901 Linden Street, Bethlehem.  Family and friends may call 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
