Richard Bruce Yeager, Sr., 94, of Bethlehem, PA, passed away on December 10, 2023, in Moravian Village Health Center. He was the husband of the late Janet (Gurka) Yeager, who passed away November 25, 2013. They were married for 58 years. Born on December 22, 1928, in Fountain Hill, he was the son of the late Clifford T. and Maurine (Aldridge) Yeager. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He graduated from Liberty High School in 1946, Kutztown University in 1953, and Lehigh University in 1959. Richard was a teacher and administrator for the Bethlehem Area School District for 33 years, serving as principal at Lafayette, Farmersville, Hanover, Clearview and Buchanan Elementary Schools. Richard held memberships in PSEA, NEA, PASR, Northampton County PASR, and BEA. He was a member of the Bethlehem Schoolmen's Club. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, where he served as President of the Christ UCC/Salem Cemetery Association and the Salem Men's Association. He served as President of the Bethlehem Teachers' Credit Union. Richard was a life member of the H. Stanley Goodwin Masonic Lodge # 648 F. & A.M. He served as a PIAA track official at high school and college levels with Emery Track & Field Association. He participated in nearly 200 state and national 5K/10K runs, as well as the Senior Olympic Games. Richard was a member of the Lehigh South Side Boosters and a proud member of the 50-Gamers Club of Lehigh vs. Lafayette Football.

Survivors: sons, Joel R. of Birmingham, AL, and Richard B., Jr., married to Dawn of Elizabethtown, PA; daughter, Johanna, wife of Stephen W. Reisteter of Bethlehem. He was predeceased by a sister Jane M. Yeager.
