Robert W. Heard, 89, of Bethlehem Township passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2016, in his residence. His wife of 56 years, Mary Louise (Hartman) Heard died in 2007.

Born in Boston, Mass., he was a son of the late Joseph J. and Margaret (Beatty) Heard.

A U.S. Navy veteran, Robert was a civil engineer for Texaco before retiring.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed sailing, gardening, and sports, as well as reading, music, and time with family.

Survivors: Sons, Robert, Jr. of Tucson, AZ, Andrew and wife Karen of Phoenix, AZ,; daughters, Margaret and husband J. Donald Catanese of Yardley, PA, Anne Marie of Sacramento, CA, Susan of Bethlehem Twp., and Cynthia of Philadelphia,; sisters, Lucy Porter of Merced, CA and Rhoda Perry of Mitchellville, MD, 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Services: 2 p.m., Monday, January 2, in the Pearson Funeral Home, 1901 Linden Street, Bethlehem. Family and friends may call noon - 2 p.m.
