Robert D. Mease, 76, of Bethlehem, passed away on June 9, 2026 in the inpatient unit of Lehigh Valley Hospice. He was the husband of Janis (Rodenbach) Mease for the past 53 years.

Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late William and Grace (Huber) Mease.

A former member of Trinity UCC, Bethlehem and currently a devoted member of Grace Church Bethlehem, Robert served as pastor of St. Mark’s UCC, Allentown. A man of deep faith and kindness, his greatest contribution in life was serving as a witness to Jesus Christ and proclaiming his faith to all whom he met. In addition to his pastoral duties, Robert had a varied work history including the University of Pittsburgh Campus Police, Bethlehem Steel, a substitute secondary teacher, professor at DeSales University, as well as a long career with ATT and its subsidiaries, Lucent and Avaya, including his involvement in flying the Telstar 4 satellite. He also proudly served as a First Lieutenant in the Army National Guard and reserves.

He was active with the Trinity/Edgeboro Dart Team, East Bath Rod and Gun Club, Hellertown Sportsmen’s Association, Ontelaunee Rod and Gun Club, Share the Power (STP), and a former member of the Zion Choral Group.

Robert enjoyed singing, hunting, target shooting, fishing, and most of all being with family and friends, especially his five grandchildren, affectionately known as granddad and d-dad.

Surviving are two daughters, Erin Ference, and husband Daniel, of Winter Garden, FL and Jennifer Goodpaster, and husband David, of Jamison, PA, sisters; Nancy Simpson and husband Charles and Jane Seasholtz and her husband Jeff, both of Bethlehem, and 5 grandchildren.

Services will be held in the Pearson Funeral Home, 1901 Linden St., Bethlehem, on Monday, June 15, at 11:00 am. Calling hours are Sunday, June 14, 4-5:30 pm and Monday 10 am until services.
