Ronald Hodgkins, 85, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 19, 2023, in St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the husband of Clara (Janzso) Hodgkins. They were married for 61 years last April.

Born in Manhattan, he was the son of the late Philip Houston and Dorothy Caroline (Edinger) Hodgkins.

Ronald proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Cuban Missile Crisis for eight years. He was employed as a crane operator at the Bethlehem Steel Co. before retiring, then later worked at Wegman's.

He was a good husband, father and grandfather, as well as a hardworking man. He enjoyed watching baseball and football and loved his dogs, Onyx I and II, Molly I and II, and Buttercup.

Surviving with his wife Clara, are sons, Ronald Hodgkins and wife Mary Jo of Lake Worth, FL and Barry Hodgkins of Bethlehem Township; a daughter, Crystal Hodgkins of Wilkes Barre; grandchildren, Tiffany, Christopher, Tina, Joshua, Kristiana, Cassandra, Angelina, Marissa and Brandon; and great-grandchildren, Kiara, Christina and Callen. He was predeceased by grandchildren Christina and Ryan.

Military services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, March 27, in the Bethlehem Memorial Park Mausoleum, 1851 Linden Street, Bethlehem.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Center for Animal Health and Welfare, 1165 Island Park Road, Easton, PA 18045.
