Sandra Jean Cope, 75, of Kirkland Village, Bethlehem, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 19, 2017, after a long and courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma.  She was the wife of James Cope, with whom she would have celebrated 56 years of marriage in July.

Born in Lock Haven, Sandy was the daughter of the late J. William and Margaret Jean McNary.

She graduated from Lock Haven High School, Linden Hall Academy and Pierce College.

Sandy was President of SMC Associates, CFO and Co-Owner of Miller Trucking Services and its subsidiary companies for 35 years.  She was a member of the American Trucking Association, Bethlehem and Lehigh Chambers of Commerce, and numerous professional and civic organizations.

As a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem, she was a Stephens Minister, deacon and Sunday school teacher.

A world traveler, Sandy visited over one hundred countries and every state in the U.S.  She loved adventure, flying small planes, white water rafting, jogging and boating.  One of her joys was sailing boats in the Chesapeake Bay and Pamlico Sound.  Sandy was a member of the Pamlico Sound & Power Squadron.  A lifelong golfer, she was a member of Northampton Country Club, Silver Creek Country Club and the Washington Yacht & Country Club.

Survivors: A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she is survived by her loving husband James Cope; sister, Cynthia McNary of Keswick, VA; three children, Donna Jean Eltringham, and husband Syd of Dublin, OH (grandchildren, Tyler and Alexandra Eltringham) , Catherine Jean Clemens, and husband Steve of Larchmont, NY (granddaughters, Emily and Ashley Clemens), and Michael William Cope, and wife Claudia of Ardmore, PA.
