Sister M. Christine, of the Mother of God, O. Carm of the Carmelite Monastery, Coopersburg, died on Saturday, February 27, 2021, in Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem.  She was a cloistered sister in the Carmelite Order of the Ancient Observance where she entered on January 7, 1948.  She professed her first vows on October 2, 1949 and her solemn vows on July 19, 1953.  She celebrated her golden jubilee on October 2, 1999.

Born as Helen Elias in Hazleton, PA, on October 14, 1924, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna Elias.

Services: Her Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by the Most Reverend Alfred A. Schlert, Bishop of Allentown, on Thursday, March 4, 2021, at the monastery.  Due to the COVID restrictions and its related limitations, her mass with entombment in the Carmelite Mausoleum was private.
