Thomas R. Thompson, 86, of Bethlehem, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2023, in Lehigh Valley Hospital – Muhlenberg. He was the husband of Joan (Antoniello) Thompson.

Born in Queens, New York, he was the son of the late Thomas Julius and Theresa (Schmidt) Thompson.

Thomas proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1960 – 1982 retiring as a Lt. Commander.

He was employed as a paralegal before retiring. Always extremely athletic, during high school and college he played basketball, track, football, baseball, tennis, and also played in the band. Thomas was an Eagle Scout and worked with his son's Scout troop and baseball teams. He will be dearly remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Surviving with his wife Joan are a son, Thomas Thompson, Jr., and his wife Lisa of Mount Holly Springs, PA; a daughter, Donna Vought, and her husband John of Bloomsburg, PA; and five grandchildren, Ashley Vought, Emily Keeley and her husband David, John Thomas Vought, Trent Thompson and Theresa Thompson. He was predeceased by his daughter Patricia Thompson in 2021.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday, November 21, in Notre Dame of Bethlehem Church followed by entombment in Holy Saviour Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a calling hour in the church from noon – 1 PM.
