Timothy E. Bowersox entered into rest on Sunday, March 9th, 2025 at Kirkland Village in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He was born on September 19th, 1938 on a farm in Center Township, Snyder County, Pennsylvania. Tim was the son of Harold ("Honey") and Alma (Gearhart) Bowersox. The family relocated to Upstate New York in the mid-1940s.

Tim graduated from Lyndonville High School, where he was awarded the American Legion Oratory Award in his senior year. He went on to attend the State University of NY in Oneonta, where he graduated in 1962. He met his lovely wife, Joyce Fukuhara, while at university and the two married in April of 1963. They bought a home in Bellport, New York where they lived for 56 years before relocating to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania in 2019. During their years in Long Island, they enjoyed frequent trips to New York City to embrace all the city had to offer including its art, theater, films, museums, and restaurants. Tim's love for all things New York could also be seen by his New Yorker totes, mugs or a rolled up NYTimes somewhere nearby.

Tim taught English at Patchogue-Medford School District. Education was very important to him, and he embraced learning throughout his life. He accumulated and read enough books to fill a small library. He could also solve the toughest NYTimes crossword puzzles with an ink pen. Tim and Joyce were avid travelers and traveled over a good part of the globe. Tim embraced the cultures of far away cities and villages and captured thousands of photographs and memories in the process.

In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by Joyce, an infant brother William, and brother Raymond ("Peach") Schell. Tim is survived by his sister-in-law, Mary Anne Schell.

Tim lived an amazingly full life and was loved by many. For those who were lucky enough to know Tim, he most certainly taught each of them something they did not know prior to knowing him. Tim's generous spirit and sharp wit will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him. A memorial service to honor and remember Tim will be held at Kirkland Village on April 5th at 2pm.
