On Thursday, September 8, 2022, Virginia McCray Conover, loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away at the age of 90 in Bethlehem, PA.  Virginia was born March 12, 1932.  She received a diploma as a registered nurse from Somerset Hospital School of Nursing in 1954 and graduated as president of her class.  She practiced in several nursing fields throughout her career including geriatrics, which was her favorite, and retired as an industrial nurse. Virginia was married to Brevoort C. Conover (deceased 2014) in December 1954.  They raised four children together.

Virginia had a passion for quilting.  She gathered with friends to help each other create extraordinary works of art and life-long friendships.  Virginia was particularly fond of the Pennsylvania Dutch/Amish style and design.  She won several awards in various quilting contests over the years.  All immediate family members have beautiful examples of her creative work.   She was also an avid fan of music, movies, loved to travel and had a keen-eye for design.  Also, Virginia made time for volunteer work following her retirement.  She loved to travel with friends and family.  One of her most recent and cherished trips she went to Paris with her daughter and grandson.  She loved her family with all her heart, and especially her grandchildren.

Virginia was known for her quick wit and infectious smile, her kind, generous, and compassionate spirit. She is survived by her daughter Amy and three sons Mark, Martin, and Joel; five grandchildren, Clinton, Leo, Anita, Brock, and Bryce.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 11a.m., at St. Thomas UCC, Bethlehem, PA.  In lieu of giving flowers the family asks those who are able instead make a donation to ProMedica Foundations-Senior Care Fund. https://www.promedica.org/waystogive/senior-care-fund/donate/
