Wayne Compton, 73, formerly of Northampton, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2022, in the Gino J. Merli Veterans Center, Scranton. He was the husband of Cheryl (Markulics) Compton, who died July 8, 2016.

Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Lester J. and Nancy I. (Behler) Compton.

A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Wayne served his country during the Vietnam War. He was employed as a mechanic at A.J. Trunzo before retiring.

Wayne was previously a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Bethlehem.

Surviving are his daughter, Crystal Compton of Northampton; Joseph Compton of Allentown and Christopher Compton of Fountain Hill; brothers, Barry and Leslie; and sisters Karen Toulomelis of Northampton and Dawn Hunsicker of Lehighton; three grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 10, in Bethlehem Memorial Park (Maplewood Section). Arrangements have been entusted to the Pearson Funeral Home, 1901 Linden Street, Bethlehem, PA.
