William M. Sokol, 88, of Northampton, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2020, in Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg.  He was the husband of Thelma (Schilling) Sokol.  They celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary in June.

Born in Mount Carmel, he was a son of the late Andrew and Elizabeth (Plutko) Sokol.

Bill was a man of many talents, from woodworking and electrical engineering to mechanical maintenance.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  He belonged to the American Legion Post #231, Kulpmont and the VFW Post 2110, Mount Carmel.

He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, Northampton.  Bill loved working in his wood shop, and recently completed a pulpit for the church.  He enjoyed all of his pets.

Surviving with his wife, Thelma, are a son, William, Jr. of Hackettstown, NJ; a daughter, JoAnn Rosenberg, and her husband Larry of Kendall Park, NJ; brothers, Robert of Susquehanna and Ronald of Elysburg; grandchildren, Russell Rosenberg and Jordan Rosenberg.  He was predeceased by a brother, Matthew, and a sister Betty.

Services will be held at noon on Thursday, October 29, in Concordia Lutheran Church.  Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. - noon Thursday.  Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Union, New Jersey.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Pearson Funeral Home, Bethlehem.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Bill's name may be sent to the church, 3285 Pheasant Road, Northampton, PA 18067.
